Job Summary
The Marketing & Communications Coordinator, Student Experience supports the implementation of marketing and communication initiatives for areas within Student Experience by coordinating assigned projects from planning through completion and ensuring timely, high-quality deliverables. This position develops and produces content across digital, print, web, social media, photography, and video platforms; coordinates assigned project workflows; collaborates with campus partners and external vendors; and ensures all marketing materials align with university branding, accessibility, and communication standards. The Marketing Coordinator also supervises student marketing staff as assigned and provides training and consultation to student organizations, student leaders, and departmental staff on marketing best practices, branding requirements, and effective communication strategies to support consistent, engaging, and compliant promotional efforts across Student Experience.

Job Description
Typical duties may include but are not limited to:
- Coordinates marketing projects for assigned areas within Student Experience by managing the intake, prioritization, assignment, tracking, and completion of marketing requests through established workflows and project management systems.
- Coordinates the development of marketing and promotional materials across multiple platforms, including graphic design, social media, websites, photography, videography, presentations, reports, and print publications.
- Provides project oversight for marketing initiatives serving multiple assigned Student Experience departments and program areas, monitoring timelines, deliverables, and quality standards while supporting alignment with divisional goals.
- Supervises and develops student marketing staff and graduate assistants as assigned through hiring, onboarding, training, project assignment, coaching, performance feedback, and ongoing professional development.
- Reviews, edits, and provides quality assurance for marketing content produced by student staff to ensure consistency, effectiveness, accessibility, and compliance with university branding standards.
- Coordinates and maintains the departmental web presence across more than 50 webpages, ensuring content accuracy, functionality, accessibility compliance, and alignment with university communication standards.
- Coordinates content planning and content management for departmental social media channels and provides guidance and training on social media best practices for all areas within Student Experience.
- Creates and coordinates visual media content, including photography, videography, video editing, and multimedia projects that support student engagement, recruitment, educational initiatives, and signature campus programs.
- Serves as a resource for professional staff, student employees, student organizations, and sport club officers on marketing processes, branding requirements, accessibility standards, and communication best practices.
- Coordinates relationships with external vendors and print production partners by preparing production-ready files, communicating project specifications, reviewing proofs, and supporting quality production outcomes.
- Monitors marketing workflows and project outcomes, identifies opportunities for increased efficiency, and recommends improvements that enhance marketing operations within assigned areas.
- Ensures marketing and communication materials comply with university policies, brand standards, licensing requirements, and ADA accessibility guidelines.
- Collaborates with designers, marketing coordinators, and staff throughout Student Success & Enrollment Management and University Marketing & Communications to maintain consistent branding and messaging across Student Experience communications.
Other Duties:
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications for Marketing & Communications Coordinator I:
- This position requires five years of directly related full-time experience or, as an alternative, a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate area of specialization and one year of full-time experience directly related to the job functions.
- Professional full-time experience in graphic design, marketing, public relations, website development, or communications.
- Experience operating a personal computer and proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Publisher and Outlook).
- Any appropriate combination of relevant education, experience, and/or certifications may be considered.
Required Qualifications for Marketing & Communications Coordinator II:
- This position requires seven years of directly related full-time experience or, as an alternative, a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate area of specialization and three years of full-time experience directly related to the job functions.
- Professional full-time experience in graphic design, marketing, public relations, website development, or communications.
- Experience operating a personal computer and proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Publisher and Outlook).
- Any appropriate combination of relevant education, experience, and/or certifications may be considered.

- Ability to design promotional and marketing materials including brochures, newsletters, posters, on-line banners, ads, reports, and news and magazine features.
- Ability to train, coach, and provide guidance to students, campus partners, and staff on marketing principles, branding standards, accessibility requirements, communication best practices, and the effective use of marketing tools and resources.
- Ability to take initiative to plan, organize, coordinate and perform work in various situations when numerous and competing demands are involved.
- Ability to supervise, mentor, and develop student employees by assigning work, establishing priorities, and providing performance feedback.
- Ability to think critically and creatively, have a high standard of integrity, and be motivated to incorporate best practices into the organizational structure.
- Ability to operate personal computers with proficiency and learn new applications and systems.

Salary commensurate with education and experience up to $50,710.
