Job Description
Key Responsibilities
Digital Marketing & Social Media
- • Assist in developing and executing marketing campaigns across platforms including
- Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube, and Instagram.
- Assist in the management and development of social media content that aligns with GIDDI
- program and messaging guidelines.
- Create, schedule, and monitor engaging content tailored for GIDDI social media channels
- and digital newsletters.
- Follow brand and messaging guidelines set forth by FGCU and GIDDI.
Content Creation
- Design and edit marketing materials, photographs, graphics, posters, and promotional
- material using tools such as Canva or Adobe Creative Suite.
- Assist with creating promotional assets such as flyers, graphics, and email campaigns.
Event Support & Community Outreach
- Aid in planning, promoting, and executing GIDDI events, workshops, and seminars, including
- logistics, marketing materials, event set-ups, and post-event follow-up.
- Support the coordination of events and outreach activities.
- Assist in tabling at on-campus events to inform students about GIDDI programs.
- Attend meetings and events as necessary for planning and promotion.
Administrative & Project Support
- Meet weekly with supervisors and collaborators to plan and report on the progress of varied projects.
- Provide general administrative support to the Education Coordinator and Program Support Specialist as needed.
- Communication with Community Partners
- Compose and send professional email communications tailored to community partners and key stakeholders.
- Coordinate with the Education Coordinator and Program Support Specialist to develop and refine messaging strategies that align with GIDDI brand and mission.
- Follow up on inquiries and engage with community partners to promote GIDDI events, workshops, and collaborative opportunities.
- Ensure all external communications are timely, clear, and professional.

Additional Job Description
Required Qualifications
- Currently enrolled as a student at Florida Gulf Coast University in an undergraduate program in Communications or Marketing and in good academic standing.
- Proficient in using various social media platforms.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite (or equivalent).
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in marketing, social media management, or event coordination.
- Knowledge of digital marketing tools.
- Skills such as still photography, photo and video editing, and data visualization are preferred but not required.
- Federal Work Study (FWS) students are encouraged to apply.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Knowledge of social media design and software, including programs such as Canva.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects.
- Self-motivated, team-oriented, and comfortable in a professional environment.
- Ability to generate fresh ideas and produce compelling content.
- Ability to respond to supervision, guidance, and direction in a positive, receptive manner and in accordance with stated policies.
- Ability to work well both independently and in team settings.
- Availability to work up to 12 hours per week.
- Physically able to table outside and move signage around campus.
