Job Description

Provides operational support and maintenance of laboratory and classroom multimedia podiums to include associated peripherals, control programs, computers, and other classroom equipment. Responsible for assisting with the technical setup, moderation and breakdown of special events.

Required Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent.

Three years of experience providing computer and/or multimedia technical system support, help desk support, or other closely related experience.

Any appropriate combination of relevant education, experience, and/or certifications may be considered.

Must be able to work a schedule of Tuesday through Friday, 12:00 pm to 9:00 pm, and Saturday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. The schedule may vary based on scheduled events.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with technical support of computer and multimedia systems; operating and troubleshooting classroom media presentation systems.

Experience supporting Apple IOS and PC operating systems and applications, including software and peripheral installation and maintenance; basic troubleshooting for computers in a networked environment; installation and operation of sound systems for events; and office management and inventory tracking.

Experience supporting a Learning Management system such as Canvas or other comparable LMS.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Ability to install and maintain integrated multimedia teaching podium systems.

Ability to install and operate sound systems for events.

Ability to interact with others in a pleasant, professional and helpful manner.

Ability to communicate and exchange routine information.

Knowledge of integrated multimedia system programs (AMX and/or Crestron control systems).

Knowledge of desktop computers and basic networking concepts.

Knowledge of Canvas or comparable Learning Management system.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Commitment to customer service and working in a team environment.

Salary Range $17.43 - $18.39 hourly ($36,400 - $38,400 Annual)

Job Duties

Essential Job Duties

•Provides high quality technology services and support to university constituents and community members.

•Provides technology services, operational support, inspection, and maintenance of classroom technology systems including integrated podium systems and associated programs and peripheral devices.

•Troubleshoots associated technology problems, initiates repairs, and provides timely resolutions.

•Supports the use of the University’s learning management system by other departments.

•Provides assistance with technical planning, moderation and setup of academic events.

•Provides assistance in the operation of equipment loan office, inventory control, and order processing. Maintains database of equipment loaned to faculty and staff. Provides technical support for AET supported hardware/software.

•Provides coverage at AET main office, including answering phones and working with walk-in customers.

•Prepares, tracks, delivers, and operates media equipment and specialized sound reinforcement services for special events.

•Works collaboratively with part time staff with the technology set up for large events, classroom maintenance, and inventory control.

•Serves as essential personnel and provides assistance in the event of an emergency on campus.
